Registration & About

I am a qualified and registered Counselling Psychologist registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).

I am a qualified Counselling Psychologist registered with the HPCSA and obtained my Master of Social Science degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.

I currently have 8 years’ experience of practice in the field of psychology. I have a special interest in the field of trauma and trauma counselling. I offer individual psychotherapy and counselling for adults, young adults and adolescents dealing with the following psychological and emotional problems: trauma, anxiety, depression, major life adjustments, interpersonal difficulties, grief, and stress. I also offer career counselling and assessment for learners making subject and career choices.

I practice predominantly from a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy perspective, having completed training from the Cleveland Center for Cognitive Therapy (USA). Other approaches included in my therapeutic approach are Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy and Time Limited Dynamic Psychotherapy.

My passion is psychological wellbeing and holistic personal development and growth. I believe that the therapeutic process will facilitate not only a healing process but also growth, where the individual will develop self-awareness, self-insight and the necessary measures of resilience which will stand them in good stead in the face of life’s inevitable challenges.
